Greg come on, this is an extremely rare and isolated incident. How do you know this wasn't a black co-worker that wanted to scare this guy ? My understanding is that this family had lived there for years without incident.
This could have simply been some kids playing a stupid prank ... let's not try to make more out of it than it really was. That type of over-reaction only heightens racial tension, it doesn't lessen it.
